SFS 07
“A unique festival of young fashion designers’ collections, SHOOTING FASHION STARS made the gala evening of Designblok shine.” Headlines such as this accompanied SFS 07. The SFS fashion show has gained a prominent position within the days of design in Prague, becoming the chef d’oeuvre of Designblok’s final gala evening in 2007.
The industrial vibe of a Karlín factory hall sharply contrasted with a wave-shaped catwalk evoking the impression of dynamic movement. A large screen completed the scene.
All collections, packed with great design and timeless ideas, received well-deserved and even repeated applause from the visitors to the gala evening.

Chatty A trio of designers, CHATTY closed the show with a very non-traditional, almost taboo-like and shiver-inducing decadent topic – a collection entitled “REST IN PEACE”, permeated with the idea of one’s last rest. Chatty’s creative take on the topic toyed with the phenomenon of a funeral ritual and its decadent vibe. The designers drew inspiration from the fantastic ornaments found on coffins and surviving ladies’ chiffon veils. But the stifling hint at the upcoming end actually contains respect, peace, care and comfort for one’s last rest.
Jana Rollová The first to make the stage was the Body-Home collection by JANA ROLLO. Models presented fresh, well-wrought models full of lightness and airiness, in gentle and pleasant natural tones. Jana’s collection works with uniting contrasts, finding inspiration in the living world of nature combined with the world of technology, design and architecture. She calls her models the “architecture of nature”.
Matušínská & Szajko Invisible Diary II “My face is my art…” was the name of the second collection, presented by PETRA MATUŠÍNSKÁ and JAKUB SZAJKO. The collection was characterised with layering of clothes and application of items such as stitched-on pockets and shirring. Almost every model included the collection’s theme symbol – a nursling’s face. The artists consider their collection to be a self-reflection, including the attitude to their secret sides.
Zuzana Veselá Designer ZUZANA VESELÁ’s Grace collection focused on the element of femininity and the intricacies of a feminine soul – its multifaceted and complex nature. Every piece reflected elegance utilising combined materials, shiny fabrics, intriguing shirring as well as a masculine element – a tie… Simply, femininity in all forms, including a model with shirred white shoulders evoking angelic wings and a model featuring red colour representing hot beauty and an untamed spirit.
